Tony Clubb becomes coach, future Hampshire and superhuman Sinfield
Tony Clubb embarks on training
Former Wigan mainstay Tony Clubb has joined the coaching team at Ince Rose Bridge community club.
The 34-year-old retired at the end of last season. Clubb has made over 300 career appearances for the London Broncos and Wigan. He also won four caps for England.

Ryan Hampshire’s future
Former Wakefield full-back or half-back Ryan Hampshire has provided an update on his future after confirming talks with the club. (Yorkshire Live)
The 26-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving Trinity at the end of last season. Hampshire said Yorkshire Live: “The Super League is the only level I want to be at. I just think Ryan Hampshire at his best is as good as any right-back in the competition. I’m happy with myself at the moment and I’m using my free time wisely. Obviously, I want something to show up and if it does, that’s fine, but I’m not just going to take something that doesn’t make sense for my abilities and goals.

John Bateman Family Ties

There will be divided loyalties in the Bateman family next year. Aussie girlfriend Amy is expecting their first child together! In conversation with the Mirror, Bateman laughed: “Don’t even get me started, we’ve had arguments about this before!” By the time the World Cup arrives we will have had the little one – my wife thinks they will be wearing an Aussie jersey because of her side of the family, but she has something else coming, I’ll tell you.
Concussion Detection Mouthguards
The Rugby Football League has approved concussion detection mouthguards in the rugby league. (The Guardian)
The guards have been tested by Leeds Rhinos this year. They will be introduced to the wider game next season. Professor Ben Jones said The Guardian: “The protectors measure the acceleration profile of the head and monitor the impact on the head and the rotational force. “
Superhuman Kevin Sinfield
Kevin Sinfield is ready to step into a “dark place” on his epic 101 mile running challenge in support of old friend and former teammate Rob Burrow. (The sun)
Sinfield said The sun: “We’re going to a pretty dark place. We don’t know what unpleasant things await us, but we are ready to go into it. He (Burrow) thinks it’s hilarious, which is great.

Union star visits Leeds
