SJL Business Awards Help UK Entrepreneurs Succeed with Grants and Mentorship | City & Business | Finance

Winners will receive a grant of £2,000 or more, a year’s free mentorship and free publicity to increase their business position. Anyone aged 18 and over can apply, with finalists presenting to the judges on Wednesday November 2 at an event in the House of Commons.

The foundation currently raises funds for ethical start-ups and Acorns Children’s Hospices Trust.

Broker and dedicated supporter of learning SJL Insurance Services, whose owner and managing director is Simon Lancaster, is the foundation’s main sponsor.

To enter, email [email protected] for an application file. The form has eight questions, and each entrant must include a three-minute video of themselves explaining what their business does and how they would spend the grant. The deadline for entries is Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at noon.

Among the judges are Simon Lancaster, Kerry Hopkins, owner of broadcast PR agency Broadcast Academy and Annabel Kaye, founder of legal consultancy firm KoffeeKlatch. Worcester MP Robin Walker will host the morning reception.

Simon Lancaster commented: “The awards help our foundation achieve its goal of paying it forward to help other entrepreneurs. We are entering difficult times for businesses, with rising inflation, rising taxes and rising costs.

“But that doesn’t mean a business can’t succeed right now, which is what the mentorship of SJL’s senior executives and my associates aims to help winners achieve.”

All finalists will proceed to the House of Commons ready for a 7:15 a.m. finish and the event will end at 10:00 a.m. SJL Foundation
