Miss Vermont Scholarship Organization Opens Registration for Youth Mentorship Program | Education News
BURLINGTON, VT – Children of Vermont are invited to join the Miss Vermont Scholarship Organization’s Youth Mentorship Program, known as “Red Clover Kids,” which is named after the State Flower of Vermont. Boys and girls aged 5 to 12 can participate.
Mentoring as a Red Clover Kid involves several mentoring sessions scheduled on weekends throughout the fall and spring. Sessions will include hands-on field trips to various locations in Vermont. Red Clover Kids will visit places like dairy farms, sugar farms and visit a fire station with Miss Vermont 2021 Danielle Morse, who has been a volunteer firefighter for 8 years. Virtual sessions can also be offered.
Red Clover Kids are also invited to enter the Miss Vermont 2022 Scholarship Contest in April, where they will be featured on stage. Two free tickets to the competition are also offered to participants.
“The Red Clover Kids have become an integral part of the Miss Vermont Scholarship Organization,” said Executive Director Darcie Fisher. “These kids have the opportunity to work directly with our current Miss Vermont and Miss Vermont’s Outstanding Teen. This program also emphasizes community service, exposing young Vermonters to various ways to give back to their communities and to Green Mountain State.
