Paula Smyth, director of Lantra Ireland, said: “Farms can be wonderful places for children to grow up, but farming is one of the most dangerous occupations in the UK and Ireland, and it’s the only high-risk industry that deals with the presence of children.
“With school holidays, it is important to think about where your child will be during this break, to have your plans in place and to help keep them safe.
“To make sure you know the potential risks on the farm, take the course for children on the farm. This short free course will give you an overview of the different hazards and what steps you can take to avoid them.
You can register for the course on the Lantra website.
