School holidays are here and while it’s great for the kids not to have to go to school, they’re still home.
Do parents like to spend a few days for themselves? Looking for a kid friendly, outdoor, local, low cost event for your kids during school holidays – then come to the Victor Harbor Tennis Clubs ‘Junior Tennis Practice Clinic’ – Thursday and Friday 7th and 8th October, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The courts are located on George Main Road.
Children will be supervised by accredited tennis coach Erica Modra for only $ 20 / child / day. Come one day or come both days.
Register online at www.play.tennis.com.au/victorharbortennisclub/events. Each day is included a BBQ lunch and freebies, use of the courts and club facilities, with drinks / snacks that can be purchased at the club.
Kids just need to bring soft-soled shoes, their tennis racket, and a bottle of water. The Victor Harbor Tennis Club has “Hotshots” available on loan on the day.
Each day will be designed for all children’s abilities (starters: use of red ball – 5-8 years old – bigger balls which have a lower compression and therefore less bouncing), to the orange ball (7-8 years old) and to green balls (-10 years old), also low compression tennis balls to encourage rallying and build confidence with children and tennis.
Victor Harbor Tennis Club coach Erica Modra said there will be structured activities for all levels of tennis, plenty of games and fun activities, all designed to improve tennis and have fun in the sun.
“We will keep the kids active on the court and send them home enthusiastic about tennis,” Erica said.
Club president Chris Scheid said there would be opportunities for the children to continue playing tennis and training with Erica Modra.
“I’m sure the kids will enjoy their day of tennis and their time with Erica and if they don’t want to continue their tennis journey then individual training with Erica is an opportunity available,” said Chris.
“We have been locked up, locked up and generally banned from outdoor activities due to COVID. We have all learned how important it is to be outdoors, to be active and to socialize. opportunity that we present to parents of Victor Harbor as well as tourists to Victor Harbor and free time for parents during school vacations is also important ”.

“The other opportunity we have for parents is social tennis. Starting in the first week of Quarter 4, every Thursday evening there will be a ‘men’s event’ and a ‘women’s event’ going side by side. Playing Fast 4 doubles, teams will play sets of tennis at your own pace, with each set designed to last 20 minutes. “
There will be a small ball fee each week and players can play weekly or weekly.
“We had social tennis last year, and it was well received, especially by the ladies. It was great to be on the court after work, under lights to have a shot and enjoy. good company and a bit of fitness, ”he said.
