Babysitter training camp offered | News from the city of Coronado
One of the basic courses of recreation and golf services offered to young teens is the babysitter training camp. If you have a young teenager, ages 11-15, who enjoys looking after young children – not to mention potentially earning some pocket money, then this camp may be the camp for them.
This four hour program will teach participants how to supervise, care for and ensure the safety of infants and young children. Hands-on experience is gained by learning how to change diapers in babies and toddlers, recognize and respond to emergencies, and respond to choking. In addition, a brief introduction to infant and child CPR will be provided. The skills taught here are beneficial for any young teenager or adult!
The class is held in person at the Coronado Community Center. COVID-19 safety guidelines are followed, and for this reason, separate training equipment is provided for each participant. The training takes place on Friday, November 12 from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm The timing could not be better as November 12 is a CUSD holiday!
If your young teenager wants to care for and supervise young children, starting a childcare business is the perfect choice! Contact the Coronado Golf and Recreation Department at 619-522-7342 to register by phone or visit the city’s website at www.coronado.ca.us/register to register online.
